Call us
From 30 June to 3 July 2025, Exemplar will sponsor the fifth edition of fibCACRCS, the international workshop dedicated to the structural assessment of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures damaged by corrosion. The event will be held at the Lecco Campus of the Politecnico di Milano and is a point of reference for the technical-scientific community involved in the analysis, maintenance and redevelopment of existing infrastructure.
The event, organised by CTE, aicap and fib, brings together engineers, researchers and designers with the aim of transferring research results into operational tools for everyday engineering practice. In addition to scientific sessions, the programme includes a round table on regulatory guidelines and a session on real case studies, offering a concrete comparison between research and application in the field.
Main topics of the 2025 edition
The workshop covers a wide range of topics, including:
- corrosion damage indicators and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods,
- analytical and numerical modelling of corroded structural elements (beams, piles, joints, viaducts),
- monitoring systems and digital twins for residual life prediction,
- reactive and proactive intervention strategies, from preventive maintenance to structural rehabilitation,
- durability and seismic behaviour of damaged infrastructure,
- probabilistic assessments and structural risk management.
Ample space is also devoted to modelling temporal degradation and defining engineering parameters applicable to bridges, tunnels and critical infrastructure, with an integrated approach combining diagnostics, modelling and interventions.
Exemplary Intervention
On Monday, 30 June, the opening day, Massimo Damasio, Project Manager at Exemplar, will contribute to the debate on the synergy between advanced structural simulation software and new design requirements for the assessment of existing structures.
A strategic initiative for the sector
fibCACRCS 2025 represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen dialogue between academia and industry, and to discuss the future prospects of structural design in contexts of advanced degradation. Exemplar’s presence is part of a shared vision of innovation, research support and the dissemination of advanced tools for structural engineering.
